A Tasty Fourth of July

Yesterday as we celebrated America's 250th Birthday, I created some delicious Summer recipes using our Artisanal Food Collection. These easy, crowd-pleasing recipes can be enjoyed all Summer long!

THE APPETIZER:

Peach & Burrata Crostini

Ingredients: Burrata, Toasted Italian Bread, Organic Peaches, Finch & Fennel Peach Jalapeño Jam, and Infused Balsamic Glaze. (optional- toasted prosciutto)

Details: I sliced the fresh peaches and set aside. Microwave 2tbsp of Peach Jalepeno Jam and mix together until peaches are coated.  Toast the bread with olive or avocado oil at 400 for about 4 minutes. Spread burrata on the toast and top with peaches. Drizzle with our Fig or Bourbon Infused Balsamic Glaze. 

(I sautéed thinly sliced prosciutto in a saucepan and topped the crostini). This adds a salty finish to the fresh summer app.

THE MAIN COURSE:

Grilled Shrimp, Chili Bourbon Grilled Meats & Vegetables, Kick in the Pants Mac & Cheese

THE MEAT & VEG: Marinade made with either Sweet Bourbon Or Smoked Whiskey Glaze Sauce, Crunchy Chili & Onions (Trader Joes or Wegmans). I marinated the food four hours before grilling for extra flavor. I skewered them before cooking on the grill.

SHRIMP: Coat in olive oil and dust generously with our Kick In The Pants Seasoning.  For a zesty finish, add the juice of half a lemon or lime. I used cooked shrimp so I only cooked them on the grill for 5-7 minutes to bring out the flavors.

Mac & Cheese: The star of this dish is the crumb topping.  After creating my Mac & cheese in a baking dish, I melted 1/2 stick of butter, panko breadcrumbs and 1 tbsp of Kick In The Pants Seasoning.  Top the Mac and drizzle with avocado or olive oil and bake for 20 minutes.  This adds a savory crunch with a hint of spice.
